Carta a Dulcinea, Alejandro Yagüe

So sorry to hear of the passing of composer, Alejandro Yagüe, one of the great composers of his generation, musicologist and passionate promoter of music in his beloved city of Burgos.
The pianist, Adrian Cardeñoso and myself performed this song, Carta a Dulcinea earlier in the year, as part of the Mil Caras de Dulcinea Festival.  Click on the title above to hear it on Soundcloud.

A sad time, having to say Goodbye to my dear friend and singing partner, Kevin Potton. I still can't come to terms with him leaving us so suddenly: Kevin lost his life in a motor accident on July 1st.
Kevin was one of the most talented, generous, funny and loyal friends that I had the privilege to know. Rest in peace, Kevin. All in the April Evening with Kevin and Ramon Gil, piano.

Continuing my adventure with Transbaroque in Holy week. An exciting programme of Henry Purcell. Five performances of this glorious music in the company of lovely talented people.

February and March were spent preparing these beautiful programmes. Under the directorship of Stephen Knight, Transbaroque perform lesser known works of the Baroque period in churches throughout Madrid, often adding interesting twists with lighting effects, costumes and choreography. I love working with this group!

Las mil caras de Dulcinea

Spring is in the air already? Seem to have just had Christmas!
Here's an update on 2017 activities, so far....proving to be a really exciting year.
Firstly, I'm participating in a project entitled Las Mil Caras de Dulcinea del siglo XXI (The thousand Faces of Dulcinea  of the XXI Century) and I performed at the opening concert in the Cultural Centre, La Casa de Reloj in Madrid along with pianist, Adrian Cardeñoso.
Here's an interview I gave at the inauguration. Listen to me around 32'

Happy new year!
A new year, new projects. Looking forward to the challenges that 2017 hold: more exploration of Spanish contemporary music, going back in time to the Baroque period with a programme of British music of the 17th/18th Century and as a complete change, a continuation of my collaboration with Andrea Soru, producing chill out music for the highly prestigious Buddha Bar.  So excited to be working on such a varied repertoire. I just love this job!

Otero recording

https://plus.google.com/105716225725217744048/posts/YDR1JEwy26i

One of the composers and president of ACSE is Francisco Otero. Here is a recording of one of his works which we performed at the University of California last year.

CONCIERTOS, ACSE

With pianist Jose Luis Bernaldo de Quiros in the Centro Asturiano, Madrid. In the month of November, we performed a series of concerts of Spanish composers with the group ACSE. I do feel so priviledged to be able to interpret new works for the first time, as well as having the opportuntiy to work with the composers. We also used the anniversary of Granados as an excuse to include a number of his peices. What an incredible composer!

Just had a lovely write up in the Truro School newsletter advertising the upcoming concert to raise money for the Cornwall Hospice Care.
