Happy new year!
A new year, new projects. Looking forward to the challenges that 2017 hold: more exploration of Spanish contemporary music, going back in time to the Baroque period with a programme of British music of the 17th/18th Century and as a complete change, a continuation of my collaboration with Andrea Soru, producing chill out music for the highly prestigious Buddha Bar.  So excited to be working on such a varied repertoire. I just love this job!

Otero recording

https://plus.google.com/105716225725217744048/posts/YDR1JEwy26i

One of the composers and president of ACSE is Francisco Otero. Here is a recording of one of his works which we performed at the University of California last year.

CONCIERTOS, ACSE

With pianist Jose Luis Bernaldo de Quiros in the Centro Asturiano, Madrid. In the month of November, we performed a series of concerts of Spanish composers with the group ACSE. I do feel so priviledged to be able to interpret new works for the first time, as well as having the opportuntiy to work with the composers. We also used the anniversary of Granados as an excuse to include a number of his peices. What an incredible composer!

In Easter week, my dear friend and a wonderful musician, Stephen Knight and myself gave a series of concerts in Madrid dedicated to the poems of the German mystic and philosopher, Christian F. Gellert. We performed works by CPE Bach and Beethoven of very different settings to the same poems. Here are two extracts from the Programme......

Gosh, far too long since I've posted on my blog. But so much has happened!
Going back to October I took an amazing trip to the USA. Supported by the SGAE Foundation, I joined with the fantastic pianist, Nelson Ojeda Valdes to give performances of Spanish Music of the last 100 years entitled 'Songs of New Spain'. We gave concerts in New York, at the Redeemer Concert series in Astoria and then over to California to perform at the Riverside University and Fullerton College.
You can hear excerpts of the concert here on Soundcloud.
